A £90 million overhaul of Oxford Street has been backed by residents and businesses clearing the way for construction to begin later this year.
Two thirds of respondents to Westminster council's consultation on clearing up the famous shopping district said they approved of plans to significantly reduce traffic and increase greenery.
Improvements planned will see wider pavements, redesigned crossings and more trees.
