
Flash back to over a year ago when the directors of the group sat in a meeting and started to brainstorm what we wanted the values of our new business to be. It was a hub of ideas and counter points.
But firstly, what is a company value? Is it just fluff?
“Company values are the set of guiding principles and fundamental beliefs that help a group of people function together as a team and work toward a common business goal.”
So, there is your dictionary definition, but without substance and a clear idea, company values can just turn into power words printed on a website. With no real meaning behind them.
Think ‘The Apprentice team names! ‘Synergy’ ‘’Alpha’ ‘Velocity’ to name a few terrible examples.
For a company value to hold any weight, you have to live and breathe them, so when we brainstormed, argued, and discussed, you could feel the passion in the room and how we want to actually deliver our company goals.

Authentic – of undisputed origin and not a copy; genuine.
As a collective here at the Caledonian Recruitment Group we are all unique and very different, however we share one goal, of being successful and delivering the best possible service.
Everyone operates in there own unique and ‘Authentic’ way. Our approaches to clients and candidates are always open and honest, we like to be transparent and certainly don’t overpromise and underdeliver.
When given a task, we will analyse it and openly discuss the best way to achieve it for either a client, candidate, or a new consultant.
Customer Centric – is a strategy and a culture of doing business that focuses on creating the best experience for the customer, and by doing so builds brand loyalty.
Working in recruitment you live and die by your customers, without strong relationships with clients and candidates alike, you can’t build a successful recruitment business, therefore its ingrained in our belief system to ensure we build healthy, stable and long-lasting relationships with everyone we engage with on a daily basis.
Experts – a person who is very knowledgeable about or skilful in a particular area.
The Caledonian Recruitment group is a collective of 3 specialist recruitment businesses which have been founded by consultants who have dedicated their careers to their market sectors.
We all work tirelessly to be on the pulse with current market trends and have spent years mastering our craft to be as knowledgeable as possible in our sectors.
Invested –devote (one’s time, effort, or energy) to a particular undertaking with the expectation of a worthwhile result.
The Caledonian Group is built on the investment of its staff and core businesses. We have dedicated goals to achieve, and we are all invested in each other’s success and all work towards the same goals.
We are also invested in our clients and candidate’s personal growth, whether it’s seeing an SME client turn into a global superpower or getting a candidate the pay rise or promotion, they have dreamed of, we are heavily invested in our own success and others,
