Fire safety laws implemented post-Grenfell Tower fire

The new rules will apply to high rise blocks of flats exceeding 18 metres or seven storeys in height.

Rules include implementing fire alarms in all flats, using fire-resistant materials, installation of fire doors and compartmentation measures to contain fire outbreaks.

Other rules include conducting regular fire risk assessment, having an accountable person which assesses building safety and safety measures in common areas.
